Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing

Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (UT), often referred to as linear phased array, (LPA) is an advancement in technology that assist the inspector in the interpretation of results. Phased Array transducers use multiple ultrasonic elements and electronic time delays to generate and receive ultrasound. This allows the inspector to steer, scan, sweep and focus the ultrasound electronically. In addition, advancement in instrumentation allows more accurate measurements from the ultrasonic data than offered by traditional UT.

We currently use the GE Phasor 16/64 instrument. This allows us to use transducers with as many as 64 elements. The data from the inspection can be accurately measured and reported with advancements in technology.

With the many different transducer configurations, Phased Array UT can produce reliable results for even the most difficult to inspect part, weld or component. Please contact us today to discuss your inspection needs.
